Job DescriptionThe primary responsibility of the Health Screener is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that health screenings are completed accurately and on time.Maintain a safe and professional environment for clients and employees; perform with confidence all aspects of a health screening, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.This is an independent contractor (1099) position with the possibility of converting to a W2 per diem employee after meeting certain criteria.ResponsibilitiesPerform biometric screening at client sites including finger stick blood collection, BMI, Blood Pressure and other health screening services based on service packagePerform basic waived testing technical procedures on blood samples and complete required quality controlProvide exceptional customer service at all health screeningsMaintain accurate, complete, and legible recordsParticipate in training/retraining and continuing education programs as necessaryComply with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agentsUnderstand and comply with applicable federal, state and local laws; adhere to quality assurance procedures and good manufacturing practicesMaintain all HIPAA and OSHA standards while on eventsPerform other related duties as necessaryQualificationsPreferred Work Experience: At least 1 year of healthcare experience in a professional setting.Physical and Mental RequirementsLift light to moderately heavy objects; normal performance may involve lifting and carrying objects 1–15 lbs frequently, 16–40 lbs occasionally, and avoid lifting >41 lbs without assistanceUse phone and PCFine dexterity with hands/steadinessHandle stress & emotionsConcentrate on tasksMake decisionsAdjust to changeExamine/observe detailsSit or stand for long periodsRequire travelKnowledgeMust be knowledgeable of required regulations and comply with them.SkillsProficient with finger sticks and manual blood pressureAbility to understand and perform complex procedures and techniques and work with complex instrumentation (Cholestech and/or Cardio Check experience preferred)Skills required for proper specimen and reagent handling, labeling, processing, preparation, transportation, and storageExcellent customer service internally and externallyGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read, understand and follow detailed proceduresBasic computer skills, including internet/email accessStrong communication skills both written and verbalProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, and ExcelEducationSome College Courses (Required).License/CertificationsMeet State Licensure Requirements, If Applicable.
